Cayman weather
Located in the northeast trade wind belt, the Cayman Islands have an average year round temperature of 80 degrees. The summer months tend to be between 80 and 90 degrees and a bit humid during the day with cool sea breezes in the evening. In the winter months temperatures are in the 70’s and 80’s. The Cayman hurricane season is May through November with September through November its peek months.

Cayman Time Zone
Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman are in the Easter Time Zone. Though they are in the EST they do not use daylight savings time.
Cayman Entry Requirements
Visitors to Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman can stay for one month. If you plan to stay for over one month you and your party must apply for a extension to the Immigration Department.
In order to enter the Cayman Islands you must have a valid passport that does not expire before the end of your visit and a airline ticket showing when you will be leaving the Cayman Islands.
Cayman Airports
Grand Cayman airport Owens Roberts International Airport (GCM) is the major hub for the Cayman Island. All flights to and from Cayman must travel through GCM. Gerrard Smith International Airport (CYB) on Cayman Brac and Edward Bodden Arifield (LYB) in Little Cayman can only be reached trough commuter flights leaving Grand Cayman.
Cayman Ferries
There are no ferry services that shuttle between Grand Cayman and the smaller islands; however, there are many companies that will charter boats to take you back and forth between them. The times and prices vary.

Cayman Beaches
Grand Cayman has some of the most popular beach destinations of the three Cayman Islands. Seven Mile Beach offers lots of duty-free shopping, restaurants, and entertainment and water sports. Rum Point Beach with its shade, calm waters, and Wrek Bar & Grill is a great place to relax the day away. Colliers on the East End of Grand Cayman has the best Wind Surfing on the island.
Owens Island is just a swim, row or kayak away from Little Cayman. It is a great place for a picnic with a low-key desert island feel.
The island of Cayman Brac is home to some of the best snorkeling and scuba diving in the Caribbean. 100 foot plus is the usual visibility in the waters off Cayman Brac.

Fosters Food Fair which is similar to a large chain American grocery store has several locations on Grand Cayman. Most items are imported and subject to a 20% import tax so be prepared for higher price’s.
Vino Veritas is a traditional wine merchant stocked with many different types of wines.

West Bay Road has everything from t-shirts to luxury jewlery items.
Cayman Casinos
Cayman law prohibits gambling.
Cayman Attractions
Visiting the Turtle Farm and Sting Ray City are the two most popular attractions on Grand Cayman. Both are great places to not only see the local wild life up close but also have a chance to touch.
Cayman Water Sports
Cayman has year round crystal blue waters that are great to play in. Water sports include: fishing, jet skis, diving, snorkeling, kayaks, submarine adventures and Stingray City – where you can swim with the stingrays.
Cayman Money, Credit Cards and Banks
The US $1 is equivalent to Cayman $0.82 as of June 2009.
Visa, MasterCard and any Cirrus network cards are accepted most anywhere on the Islands. Remember to contact your credit card company and let them know you will be traveling.
ATMs can be found throughout. You can contact your card company to determine where ATMs are located on the island.
Cayman Airport Departure Tax
A departure tax of $25 is required at the time of departure. Please check with your airline to see if this tax has been included in your ticket price. If it has not it must be paid in cash prior to departure.
Cayman Dress Code
Dress code for the Cayman Islands is casual, shorts T-shirts and sundress. Please remember to wear a bathing suit cover up when going into town.
Cayman Water
Not unlike other Caribbean islands the Cayman Islands do not have natural fresh water resources. Desalination and rainwater collection are the only sources for fresh water. Cayman water is safe to drink but please try to conserve as much as possible. Bottled water is available at most stores and supermarkets.
Cayman Electricity
Cayman electricity is very reliable and is 110 volts.
Cayman Languages
The official language in Cayman is English.
Cayman Religion
The religion aspect of life is very important to the Cayman people. The United Church of Jamaica and Grand Cayman has the largest amount of members; however, in the Cayman Brac area you will find many Baptists.

While tipping is always left up to the customers discretion, 15% tipping is customary in Cayman.
